My view of younger siblings

(unknown picture source but thank you anyway----torture...)

It really is amazing how one person can be so enthusiastic about having a younger sibling at the start and end up wishing that either they themselves or their siblings do not exist. I am one of them who wished I did not wish for a younger sibling.
Having a younger sibling means sharing half your life with another person. I hate it and feel like eating my words. I have a younger sister and I do not seem to be able to understand why she enjoys bugging me 24hours a day per week. No matter how hard I attempt to accept that she is still young and mischievous, it is always a fruitless attempt. I keep missing those days which I was fully loved by my parents and the apple of their eye. Presently, I am in a helpless state where I do not even get to affectionately hug my parents and actually felt loved. My life s___. I sometimes feel insane having her by my side and I grow to love camps which are like a total vacation from my chaotic life. Although camps can be gruelling tough at times but I love it thoroughly.
It really seems stupid that your sister can actually be verbally sexually harrassing you. Yet, it is true. It confuses me at how she leant of such 'tabooic' stuff and pours it on you like cold water on you when you are naked. For instance, saying," Haha I feel like kicking your ......" (I thought it not too nice to say it here). No the word is not ass. The cycle just goes on and on and people like me really wished they were not born.

You might not think it is too bad but would you like it if your sibling betrays you at every tiny thing you do or maybe accusing you of things you never actually done before? Would you feel so irritated if they had not been complaining to your parents everyday when your sky is suppose to be clear blue? They make your skies fade to grey. They make you not want to live. They push down your pride till you keep thinking that you are so worthless, a person with no abilities and a loser.

The younger ones as many realised, are usually able to connect with your parents alot better. The older you grow, the more biased your parents get. They would forget gradually what they had taught you about equality and give never ending praises to your sibling and alot more reprimanding for you. The human psychology still has never failed to amuse me.

Do we older siblings always have to carry all those burden? Do we older siblings are never a child even if you were 2years old while your sibling is 1? Do we older siblings really deseserve such discrimination? How much more ageist can people be? My answer is that if we Singaporeans pledge for equality, we should be practising what we preach. Does this ever get into any of others mind?

In conclusion, I prefer to be a lone child. However, it really is still your choice at the end of the day, whether to choose company over torture or torture over peace.

Book report

(pictures from Yahoo search engine)

The book I was devoted to reading this term was Meg Cabot's Princess diaries--Princess in Training. I decided to read that book because my mother bought it for me. I found it ying in my cupboard. Although I had already read it before, I decided to re-read it again. Also, I was told to read a book by my teacher so I did so. Furthermore, I heard from many of my friends that they love the book.

I would recommend this book to those who have not read it as it allows us to understand how we can cope with teenage problems and learn from Mia how she perservere through things she thinks she is unable to cope with.

This book is regarding a girl named Amelia also known as Mia. She is a typical teenager outcast till she found out that her father came down with Testicular Cancer which left him infertile. Mia did not know that she was a princess until much trouble she went through in the first book as a freshman.

In this series, she is a sophomore and she has a new boyfriend who has already graduated from Albert Einstein High School. It really is amazing how she actually dislike being a princess unlike other girls who would be glad to be one. She had been looking forward to school everyday since she had Michael Moscovitz as her boyfriend. However, he is now in Junior College and besides her bestfriend Lilly Moscovitz, Michael's younger sister, school life is ever yet so dreadful with Lana Weignberger whom she was always on loggerheads with. Things was made worse when Lana told Mia that college boys want their girlfriends to Do It with them otherwise they would dump them. Mia started getting worried about Michael. She felt that she was not ready and hoped that he would wait and not break up with her as she loved him dearly. Lilly was kept in the dark about it for a period of time. Mia only told Tina Hakim Baba, a friend she found in the first book for being left out as a princess.

To make things even worse, Lilly voted Mia as School Council President. Plus, Mia was to compete with Lana Weignberger. Lilly worked together with Mia's Grandmère. Lilly's motive was to suceed being Council President by making Mia step down after she won and for Grandmère it was to distract the reporters from the "little problem with killer algaes and snails" case that Mia was blamed for destroying the ecosystem when she was only atempting to save the ocean by making those snails eat the algae set loose by Moscow(if I am not wrong) which wants to remove Genovia(Mia's country) from the UN(united nations).

Fortunately, everything turned out fine and all the worries were of no use. Michael said that he could wait but not forever as he wants Mia to be his one and only, Mia won the debate for President but still in a dillemma whether to let Lilly be the President instead, the snails began eating the algae and Genovia was back on UN.

At the end of the day, Mia learnt that things are usually not what it seems to be and perserverence would always get one through the day. Adding on, she learnt that she has to be confident in herself to succeed.

I thoght that the Doing It part was the most interesting. As in, how Mia worried about her love life. Mia was amusing having to had believed what Lana had said about guys having the "backups" if they do not Do It and when girls have their period and they bathe they would bleed to death. Mia learnt not to belive rumours, trust her love and have her own paradigms and speak up for herself in this scene.
